This half term in Nursery we are talking about growing and changing, we have been planting our own seeds and finding out how we can help them grow. We will also be looking at how we grow and change.
Stay and Play
Each half term we hold a Stay and Play session for parents, grandparents, carers etc to spend a session in school with the children. These sessions are designed to be fun for everyone and the children really enjoy showing you what they do in school. It also gives you the opportunity to see what the children do, especially when some of them will come home and tell you they haven’t done anything!
We try and have a theme for each session such as Shapes, Numbers, Literacy and you will be able to see and join in with some of the activities the children do to develop their skills. We alternate the times and days of the sessions to try and enable as many parents to attend as possible. If you are limited on times when you can attend please let us know and we will try and plan a session to accommodate this.
The children bring home their WOW books, each week we will put a note in the book telling you what we are talking about and focusing on that week. We will also give you ideas of things you can do at home to support your child. Each week the children will have time to share what they have been doing at home. If you could write a quick note about what you have done with your child in the book, let them put something in their book or add any photos or tickets, brochures from places you have visited or things you have done at home it would be lovely for the children to be able to talk to us about these.
As always if you have any questions or worries please do not hesitate to come and have a chat.
